The Ohlone Greenway stretches from El Cerrito through Albany and into Berkeley connecting green spaces, gardens, family friendly restaurants and interactive vistas certain to entertain kiddos from newborn to toddler and beyond.
From El Cerrito Plaza/BART, pick up the Greenway and ride through to Gilman where you can stop off for good eats (and a beer) at the bike-friendly and family-fun Westbrae Biergarten.
After lunch, stay on the Ohlone Greenway to head towards North Berkeley Bart, or head one block west to catch Santa Fe southbound. Santa Fe will lead you to Camelia Street where you can turn right and head down past REI to Ninth Street. Ninth is a biking paradise which you can take to Berkeley Bowl West, and beyond into Oakland/Emeryville. From Ninth Street make your way south to Virginia and turn right to get to Fourth Street (make a left here) for live music, great shopping, and more exciting culinary fare.
Continue down Fourth Street beneath the University on-ramp to catch Addison where you turn right towards Berkeley Aquatic Park. This street leads you directly onto the I-80 overcrossing to the San Francisco Bay Trail. Take a left on the Bay Trail to University. Seabreeze Market and Deli is a great place to grab a fresh fruit smoothie, breathe in the Bay air, and people watch. Seabreeze Market and Deli is your turning point to get to Adventure Playground! Take a left at University and follow it into the Marina, taking a left once you’ve made your way into the Marina. Adventure Playground is on Your left!
